We can be heroes just for
one day…
A full
day’s programme delivered in school for up to 30 participants
culminating in a performance for the whole school, parents and the local
community.
What is Play in a day?
A
fun participatory project for primary school pupils aged between 7-11
years old. The project supports the PSHE and Citizenship
curriculum and is informed by the principles of the Every Child Matters
Policy that culminates in a performance for parents, the local community
and the whole school.
How does it work?
-
We work through the day to prepare a short piece of performance work
on the fun theme of self esteem and hero’s
-
Two artists work with one class using interactive and participatory
drama exercises inspired by the Every Child Matters policy.
-
The day’s experience will generate confidence and develop performance
skills based on team work.
-
The company will supply costume, props, script ideas, and music to
enhance the finished performance for parents, the local community or
the rest of the school to enjoy at the end of the day.
NB
“Play In A Day” can take place either in one day for one class of year
3-6 children or in a week with several classes.
“Play in a Day” is essentially about participation, with
schools, young people and their families from the moment of conception
to the finished product, and it all happens on the same day!
