Tangere Arts is a theatre and drama in education organisation based in rural Derbyshire, which provides a wide range of theatre performances and educational workshops, mainly to children, young people and community audiences within the East Midlands Region.

David Johnston, Ava Hunt, Sally Siner and Gary Lagden are the driving force behind Tangere Arts and combine over 70 years of experience delivering high quality theatre, drama workshops and training in an innovative and fun way.  We regularly work with  17-18,000 young people and adults a year.

Tangere Arts works in association with various partners including: Derby Playhouse, Nottingham Playhouse, Manchester Royal Exchange, Unicorn Children's Theatre, Derby City Education Authority, Derbyshire Health Authority, Creative Partnerships and Nottingham City Education Authority, Derby City NHS Mental Health Services (see Mental Health Project link)

(Showreel extracts of "Hood in the Wood" and "I Feel Like Dancing" can be viewed from the individual pages.)

Tangere Arts is currently working in association with Uncontained Arts a new company created by emerging artists with Buxton Opera House and University of Derby.  Uncontained Arts will be touring a new production of "The Little Mermaid" for audiences nationally until 19th July 2009.

I'm No Hero

"I'm No Hero" a new multi media performance piece asking the question can any of us make a difference?  Two true stories woven together - Irena Sendler (died May 2008) saving 2,500 children from Nazi occupied Warsaw and Rachel Corrie who stood alongside ordinary Palestinians.  Toured to venues throughout January.  Now taking bookings for potential Summer/Autumn 2009 tour.

A Big thank you to our audiences who contributed
