“Babes” was commissioned by Nottingham City
Healthy Schools, to explore sexual health and relationships education.
It has toured for three years to secondary schools, youth clubs and
Pupil Referral Units throughout Nottingham and Derby for year 7 and 8.
“Babes” is directed David Johnston and
performs with a multicultural cast in-the-round. Using performance and
participatory workshop elements, the audience engage with the issues
raised around how can young men and women have relationships based on
strong communication skills and respect.
As with many of Tangere
Arts’ productions, “Babes” can be adapted to fit with the school
timetable and is set up within 30 minutes, either in a school hall or
large classroom format.
